The law of attraction has been the source of countless books but is too often explained in a meta-physical way that can be a little abstract.
It might seem that the person you want to become has to do with how other people see you. The truth is that how others see you actually has more to do with how you feel about yourself. Unfortunately, most of us were taught that something outside of ourselves (money, right partner, good job...) will make us feel complete.
If I have more money then I'll feel secure.
If I get that promotion then I'll feel successful.
If I lose 10 pounds then I'll feel beautiful.
Ironically, when you fully embrace your true nature and accept yourself just as you are, you will ultimately attract what you want. When you love yourself, then you'll feel loved; when you feel wealthy, abundance will appear in your life; when you know how successful you are, opportunities will make their way to you; when you know you are beautiful, others see your beauty.
How do we do this? We listen to our inner voice. Your inner wisdom understands that you are inherently lovable, that in fact you are love. You are beauty. You are empowered. You are everything and more. Most of us know this is true if we really investigate, but the problem is that most of the time we are caught in the dialogue of our minds that tells us we are limited and insignificant. When we live through the viewpoint of the ego, life seems difficult and we feel discouraged and unsatisfied.
Try this exercise: Write down 3 things you want to be. For example - I want to be beautiful, I want to feel content, and I want to have security.
Focus your attention on these qualities you want to see and meditate on them daily, feeling them in your heart. Find them inside you and own them. Feel the beauty inside of you, the power, the security, the peace.
Instead of focusing on the things you don't want to happen, simply shift your focus and focus on the things you do want. We often focus on the things in our life that we don't like - our job, the quirky things our partner does, our injuries, our pain, etc.
The things we put our attention on are the things we attract more of. Focusing on the difficulty puts us in a state of mind that will then attract those things to us and it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
When those worry thoughts arise....What if I get fired? What if I make a speech and embarrass myself? What if I walk into the party and everyone thinks I'm weird? Consciously turn them into positive thoughts.... What if I get a promotion? What if I keep my eyes open and come across an even better job? What if I give an amazing speech and inspire others? What if I walk into the party and make a bunch of new friends and connections. It's all about consciously changing our thoughts.
Imagine watching two people walk in a room. One is thinking, "What if no one likes me?" and one is thinking "I can't wait to meet some new and interesting people!" They might both be smiling, but one will project an energy that will attract people and one will project an energy that won't.
When we are constantly in a place of fear, anxiety, and worry, we will tend to act in a way that attracts people that are in the same place. We can do the opposite. Instead of worrying about a problem area in our relationship, focus on creating and inspiring. What do you want to create in the relationship? Focus on that instead.
Project positive thoughts. It's something we have to actually rewire ourselves for. Put your conscious awareness on it and focus on being very purposeful and persistent about keeping your mind on the things you want to create in your life. Focus on the fact that you want something instead of the fact that you don't have it.....Try it with faith and confidence and consistency. You'll notice that when you are no longer insecure, this is what you project and this is how people will see you. Your thoughts shape your actions and your actions shape what you attract in your life.
